"Ultimate Team Evolutions" is a new revolutionary system that will transform your approach to squad building. With this exciting addition, you can elevate your players to new heights, taking customization to a whole new level.
Here's how it works:
Player Evolution: For the first time ever, you can enhance and personalize your club's players. This includes empowering your lower-rated favorites from any club and fine-tuning your top-tier players by adding skill moves, adjusting work rates, and upgrading weak foot abilities, among other options.
Visual Upgrades: As you progress through the evolution process, you'll earn visual upgrades that showcase the hard work you've invested in your players. But that's not all – evolving a player is just the beginning. You can repeatedly evolve the same player throughout the year, resulting in unique versions that no one else can replicate.
Inclusion of Women's Leagues: This year, EA introduced women's leagues alongside Evolutions, offering you the opportunity to craft your Ultimate Team like never before.
Process: So, how exactly does an Evolution work? To evolve your players, you'll need to commit them to an Evolution slot (We'll review in Part 2) and complete specific gameplay challenges with that player. Once these challenges are successfully conquered, your player will receive permanent upgrades.
Requirements: Keep in mind that not all players are eligible for every Evolution. You'll need to meet specific requirements to determine which players you can use. For instance, a requirement might be 'Evolve any Bronze Player' or 'Evolve a forward with 3* skill moves.'
Evolutions Availability: A variety of Evolutions will be available to players each season, with some requiring coins or a combination of coins and points.
Challenges: Each Evolution includes a set of challenge levels for you to complete. These challenges can range from straightforward tasks like 'Play 5 games where you score with this player in your starting XI' to more demanding ones such as 'Win 10 Ultimate Team Champs matches with this player.' Completing all challenges in a level unlocks upgrades and unlocks additional levels of challenges.
Upgrades: After completing each challenge level, you can claim upgrades for your player. These upgrades cover overall stat improvements (e.g., +5 OVR) and highly specific attribute enhancements (e.g., +5 Curve). You can also customize and upgrade various aspects, including Skill Moves, Work Rates, PlayStyles, Alternative Positions, and Weak Foot abilities.
Additionally, you'll unlock new item visuals and animated backgrounds for your favorite players.
FAQs
Here are some frequently asked questions about Ultimate Team Evolutions:
Transfer Market: Once a player is confirmed in an Evolution, they become untradeable and cannot be listed on the Transfer Market.
Number of Evolutions: You can have as many Evolution players in your squad as you want, but only one can be activated for upgrading at a time.
Switching Players: You can freely switch between the players you want to upgrade. Progress is saved, so you'll pick up right where you left off.
Withdrawal: You cannot withdraw a player from an Evolution once it has started.
Squad Building Challenges: In-progress Evolution players cannot be used in SBCs, but fully upgraded players can.
Time Limits: Evolutions can have time restrictions. If the timer expires, you'll receive upgrades only for completed levels.
Multiple Evolutions: Players can be enrolled in multiple Evolutions, but not simultaneously. They can join a new Evolution once their current one is completed.
Unique Items: Evolution items are unique and distinct from the initial player items.
Gameplay Indicator: During gameplay, an overhead indicator will identify the player you are actively evolving.
One thing EA hasn't mentioned anywhere but might be of note, is that if you start an Evolution with a player you purchased on the Transfer Market, it still does not become First Owned! I didn't realize this until after I had initially started an Evolution. This is just something to keep in mind.
